Each Convocation is designed to provide relevant and practical information on the new Vocare Certification Process, and as an opportunity to meet with our Archbishop as he conveys his vision for faith formation in the Archdiocese and answers your questions.

“Teaching as a Disciple:” Missionary Discipleship in Vocare
Presenter: Denise Warnecke, Coordinator of RCIA
Description: Not all disciples are catechists, but all catechists must be disciples. Come explore your vocation as a teacher/catechist. This session will explain the Missionary Discipleship aspect of Vocare in more detail including rationale, requirements, what constitutes Missionary Discipleship, facilitating groups, and practical examples.
“Learning Together:” Small Group Classes in Vocare
Presenter: Andrea Patch, Coordinator of Curriculum and Discipleship
Description: Online courses may feel removed from the community. This session will explore how Vocare can be taught through live class events and how the process of certification is an opportunity to create a discipleship-centered community in your parish/school.
Beyond “Plug & Play:” Sacramental Preparation in Vocare
Presenters: Fr. Tom Wray, Director of the Office for Evangelization and Discipleship & Cody Egner, Director of Religious Education at the Eastside Region
Description: Many Catechetical Leaders have longstanding resources that do not take advantage of the beautiful digital libraries currently available. The key question is how to effectively prepare someone to receive the sacraments using digital media. We will explore the use of digital media in RCIA, First Reconciliation and Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, and the notion of using digital resources for parent meetings. Come and learn a few current approaches!
